What Is Photojournaling?

There is a saying here in Colorado.

It’s not a matter of IF your home will sustain hail damage; it’s a matter of WHEN.

Every spring and summer, when the dark storm clouds roll in, you know somewhere someone is watching the hail fall. While the pebble – sized drops may simply bounce around, the panic can easily set in when you watch them grow into stone-sized pieces, golf ball sized pieces, and beyond.

If you’ve ever been through a hailstorm, you know the drill.

Within a few weeks a roofer will knock on your door, asking if it’s okay to inspect your roof. They say they are working with insurance companies on your behalf. It’s free of charge, why not?

What they don’t tell you about is the ramifications of allowing them up on your roof.

When they get up there and start documenting, they pass along results to your insurance company. They now have all the ammunition they need to declare your roof has “old damage” or “not enough damage” and therefore moves to deny any claims you put in for. Behind the scenes, the adjuster documents what now becomes “old damage” to be excluded in any future claims and forwards this to underwriting to be used at renewal. Then you may be slapped with premium increases, deductible changes and even coverage modifications all based on this “free” assessment.

That’s why we’ve created a service exclusively to protect your interest.

Roof Photojournaling allows Eco And Roof Resources to independently document the roof condition PRIOR to the next storm. When we come in, we document the “as is” today to provide a comparative record to show and prove to an adjuster the actual “new damage” caused by a recent storm. Our Roof Photojournaling service allows us to advocate for you at the adjustor meeting, armed with documented proof of prior conditions.

And best of all, our Roof Photojournaling service is free to you the homeowner or property manager.
