Hi I’m Jim Walters.
I started out my career as an insurance representative back in 1995. I have specialized in helping homeowners and commercial property owners maximize their insurance coverage. In addition, I’ve spent a great deal of time negotiating commercial insurance for franchisors and their franchisees, and have helped thousands of people insure what is most important to them.
In 2006, I started seeing a change in the insurance industry. Roof restoration used to be a client driven process. When a client had damage to the roof due to hailstorms, they filed a claim and it was handled between the client and the insurance company. Today all that has changed.
Instead of dealing with the originating sources – the client and the insurance representative – roof damage is now handled by “middlemen” – the roofer and the adjuster.
Roofers don’t understand the intricate world of insurance adjusting – they shouldn’t have to. Yet when they are providing financial data to the adjuster, which can have severe ramifications to your owner’s policies and premiums, is that fair?
I don’t think so.
Which is how My Roof Reps was born.
I have helped adjust over 2,100 roofs over the past five years. I’ve seen the good and the bad. I’ve met reputable roofers and great insurance adjusters. And of course just as many that fall to the side of being “shady”.
