About My Roof Reps

Hi, I’m Jim Walters. I started out my career as an insurance representative back in 1995. I have specialized in helping homeowners and commercial property owners maximize their insurance coverage.  In addition, I’ve spent a great deal of time negotiating commercial insurance for franchisors and their franchisees, and have helped thousands of people insure what is most important to them.

In 2006, I started seeing a change in the insurance industry. Roof restoration used to be a client driven process. When a client had damage to the roof due to hailstorms, they filed a claim and it was handled between the client and the insurance company. Today all that has changed.

Instead of dealing with the originating sources – the client and the insurance representative – roof damage is now handled by “middlemen” – the roofer and the adjuster. Roofers don’t understand the intricate world of insurance adjusting – they shouldn’t have to. Yet when they are providing financial data to the adjuster, which can have severe ramifications to your owner’s policies and premiums, is that fair?

I don’t think so. Which is how My Roof Reps was born.

I have helped adjust over 2,100 roofs over the past five years. I’ve seen the good and the bad. I’ve met reputable roofers and great insurance adjusters. And of course just as many that fall to the side of being “shady”.

My job is to provide you with the help you need to navigate the ever-changing world of roof replacement. If you have questions about the insurance process, roof damage, claims for hail damage, or anything in between, I’m there for you.

I went through the process of getting a reasonable amount of estimates. Weather guard was not the least expensive, but they weren’t the most expensive. After speaking to Jim and an acquaintance regarding Weather guard and the reps from the other estimates I knew my choice would be Weather guard.

I am a senior citizen and am writing an open letter of reference to anyone needing to deal with an insurance company regarding an insurance claim and needing to hire a contractor to do insurance related work resulting from storm damage.

Jim Walters of My Roof Reps did a great job representing MY interests to a Liberty Mutual adjuster this last summer. Liberty Mutual had only offered a partial repair to my roof in 2010 after shingles had blown off. The contractor I hired at the time with the limited funds offered by the insurance company did a terrible job … the new shingles blew off again and he was nowhere to be found.

My insurance agent recommended My Roof Reps after a storm this last summer. Jim met on site with and explained all the damage to my adjuster and was able to get my entire roof and gutters replaced and negotiated pricing directly with the insurance company. He found a great local roofing company who completed the work in a timely manner (one day for each job); their clean up was impeccable … Jim pre-planned the job requirements with the contractors and periodically showed up on-site to make sure additional “touches” were handled appropriately.

Jim dealt directly with my mortgage company to make sure all their requirements were adhered to as well.

I am happy with Jim’s professionalism and walking me through this process. You can feel confident your interests will be handled in a similar manner. I am also confident that if there is any warranty work to be done in the future, I can just call Jim and he will coordinate the contractor to get things done. My house looks great!
